An interesting article about an art-orienteted project for elementary-level social studies. I think it's an enjoyable and exciting way to make learning about Canadian events tangible. It invites students to be creative and to express themselves (within a few parameters) and gives them the opportunity to showcase their learning.

"HOT Blogging: A Framework for Blogging to Promote Higher Order Thinking" by Lisa Zawilinski
An article which discusses the various ways blogs can be used within the class to foster students' critical thinking skills. It also offers suggestions for the type of blogs teachers can involve their students' in writing. This article is particularly relevant to my first teaching practicuum because many of my students are required to do all their in-class responses via blogs.

"The Cost of Copyright Confusion for Media Literacy" by Renee Hobbs, Peter Jaszi, Pat Aufderheide
Although primarily concerned with American copyright laws, this article is extremely well written and offers insight into exactly what media literacy entails and how it is impeded the confusion surrounded by copyright law.
